COMMKIDS

(is open)

The children's ministry at CCC seeks gospel transformation for the youngest of our attenders by creating a safe, loving environment where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is taught to children in age appropriate ways.

We also seek to provide the parents of our church the opportunity to be fed and renewed by hearing the truth of the Gospel in church in order to be able to share that truth and love with their children. We also want to provide children the opportunity to have relationships with one another and develop their understanding of God within fellowship.

New to CommKids?

We are so excited that you are considering joining us during Sunday service! Here are some helpful things for you to know about our program before you arrive. Still have more questions? Check out our FAQ Sheet.

  • Currently we are offering care for Crawlers & Cruisers, Steady Walkers, Two Year Olds, and CK-1 (ages 3-4). Our hope is to continue to add age groups until we have our full CommKids Ministry back in swing. To ensure proper ratios and Covid safety policies, pre-registration is required and can easily be done here.

  • Upon registration and arrival to the CommKids wing, one of our friendly team members will help you with our health screening, check your child into our system, and show you to the appropriate class. You and your child will receive personalized, coordinating ID tags unique to your family and your visit. Hold tight to yours as you will need it to retrieve your child at the close of the service. Check-in is open from 4:30pm-5:00pm. For the safety and security of your children and our CommKids Team, the doors will be closed and locked after 5:00pm.

Classrooms

We are currently offering three classes to make sure our youngest children have a fun, safe place to be loved and learn about Jesus while their families worship in the sanctuary. The classroom environments, including tables and chairs as well as learning stations, will be arranged to encourage social distancing and our team members will be diligent to swap out used materials for fresh ones as each child rotates through the learning centers.  Children in The Two Year Olds class and CK-1 (ages 3-4) will be provided their own classroom supplies (crayons, markers, paper, craft materials, etc.) that will be stored at the church for them.

Until our  CK2 (K-Grade 2), and CK3 (Grades 3-5) classes resume, we offer a weekly, sermon based CommKids Bulletin, designed specifically for them to take into “big church” as a guide to help them engage with worship. Our friendly greeters will have these available at the main entrance to the church.

Curriculum

We use the The Jesus Storybook Bible Curriculum by Sally-Lloyd Jones and the My 1st Book of Questions and Answers Catechism by Carine MacKenzie. The Bible is taught sequentially throughout the year from Genesis 1 to Revelation in narrative form. Each story and lesson leads the children back to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Every Sunday your child will learn about God and how to live in a God-honoring way through age-appropriate activities, songs, and catechism questions. These lessons will include plenty of fun and hands-on activities to help your child learn and grow.

Safety

Your child’s safety is our priority. From check in to check out, every CommKids team member has been thoroughly vetted and trained to ensure that your child has a safe and fun experience in CommKids. All team members have passed a thorough background check administered by an outside company. We supply parents and guardians a pager in the event that a parent needs to be contacted during the service.
